Clint Bowyer Visits Sacramento to Kick-Off Countdown to 25th Toyota/Save Mart 350

Race fans are invited to join Sonoma Raceway and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Clint Bowyer in Sacramento on Monday, June 3, to kick off the countdown to the Toyota/Save Mart 350 (June 21-23).

Bowyer will trade his stock car for a high-speed shopping experience during a media and fan event at a Save Mart Supermarkets location in Sacramento (5600 Folsom Blvd.). The Michael Waltrip Racing driver will square off against a competitor in a “Shop ‘Til You Drop”-style race through the store to secure the basic supplies for a fun-filled race weekend at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 in Sonoma.

Bowyer will also enjoy a lap around the parking lot in Save Mart’s popular “Big Red” motorized shopping cart and participate in a media/fan Q&A session. Fans are invited to enjoy the Q&A session inside the store beginning at approximately 12:45 p.m.

The Sonoma Raceway promotions team will also be on hand, and it’s a great chance to purchase tickets for the 25th Toyota/Save Mart 350, including the Save Mart Supermarkets 2-Pack for $99 or the all-new NASCAR Express train package.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to the Sonoma Valley for the 25th consecutive year, June 21-23. This marks one of only two road-course races on the series’ schedule and it’s become one of the most hotly-contested events on the circuit. This year’s event will also mark the road-course debut of NASCAR’s new Gen-6 stock car.

Dylan Hutchison from Fair Oaks, qualified in the 20th position and finished in 26th place after being involved in a crash with Ryan Philpott on lap 43.

Scott Ivie from San Ramon qualified 22nd and finished in the 16th spot.

Dylan Lupton from Wilton, qualifed 14th and then finished in the 14th position.

Ryan Philpott from Tracy, started in 12th place and finished in 27th after being involved in a wreck with Dylan Hutchison on lap 43.

Greg Rayl from El Dorado Hills, started 25th and finished in 17th position.

Jack Sellers from Sacramento:The 68 year-old veteran racer and team owner qualified 22nd and came home with a 15th place finish and is now in the 15th spot in the points standings.

Derek Thorn from Lakeport, qualified 6th and finished in 4th place to put him in 4th place in the 2013 points standings.

Carlos Vieira from Atwater started in the 21st spot and came home 12th.

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates development driver will pilot the No. 32 Chevrolet Camaro for Turner Scott Motorsports

CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 6, 2013) – Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) announces today that Kyle Larson, the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) Champion will look to run a full-time NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) schedule in 2013. Larson, the 20-year-old driver from Elk Grove, Calif. will attempt to make his series debut behind the wheel of the No. 32 Clorox Chevy Camaro fielded by Turner Scott Motorsports during Daytona Speedweeks in the DRIVE4COPD 300 NNS race on Feb. 23.

The EGR development driver turned heads in NASCAR competition in 2012 when he won the NKNPSE Championship in his first year of driving stock cars. Larson, who is of Japanese-American descent, also claimed the first series championship for one of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity Program drivers.

Larson will have a big week in his Daytona International Speedway debut. Before attempting to run in the Nationwide race Larson will first compete in the Daytona ARCA race and will also participate in the Battle at the Beach held on a temporary 0.4-mile short track on Daytona’s Backstretch, that will feature three non-points special events from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tours and the Late Model division of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
